Bryan Rheude : Composer, Creative Director

A broad musical experience growing up was the foundation for Bryan Rheude's pursuit of a career as a composer. Immersed in classical piano, he also spent unhealthy amounts of time alone with his synthesizers and four-track tape recorder. Eventually, Rheude discovered jazz and dabbled in that playground for a few years along with involvement in an assortment of amazingly misguided pop efforts.
After earning a liberal arts degree in Philosophy, an internship at a recording studio led him to discover the world of commercial scoring; he was hooked. In 1994, Rheude opened Redsquared in Chicago, and steadily built a following for his unique style of production. Ample experimentation with acoustic and electronic hybrids, and uncommon
attention to detail, were his specialty.
In 2001, Rheude joined up with Larry Pecorella to launch a new company, Comma.
While Rheude had worked primarily as a loner to this point, the time was ripe to create
a company that approached projects from more of a team perspective. Comma has thrived in the intervening years, and Rheude continues to search for new ways to transform sound. Along with contributing composition to most projects, Rheude serves as one of Comma's creative directors, helping to guide the other frighteningly talented composers on staff.
Rheude has worked with a virtual Who's-Who of blue-chip clients on award-winning work, including: Reebok, Nintendo, McDonalds, Ford, Buick, Seaworld, JC Penney,Sears,
Kelloggs and Phillip Morris.
