No one wants copyright claims on their videos! YouTube uses a system called Content ID to find copyrighted material used in videos. If a video uses content without the creators permission, it will get a claim – which can be a real pain! Luckily, we make it easy for our subscribers to automatically clear their channel. This is sometimes called “allow-list” or “whitelist”, and it just tells YouTube that you have our permission to use our content.
After you’ve found the tracks you want and you’ve subscribed, you’ll need to add the tracks to your cart to generate a license and whitelist your YouTube channel. You can find the box titled “Youtube Channel ID” and follow the instructions to enter your YouTube Channel ID. Please note: this isn’t just the link or URL of your channel, but is instead a unique alpha-numeric code that YouTube generates for your channel. You probably don’t have this code memorized, but that’s ok! We have a handy tool to easily lookup your Channel ID. Simply click “Find YouTube Channel ID” and search for the name of your channel; click the “plus” icon next to your channel from the search results and it will automatically entered. Once entered, this will associate that specific track with your YouTube channel and will “whitelist” your video and automatically release any content claims.
PLEASE NOTE: The YouTube scanning system may take up to 30 minutes to process claims, but you should receive an email as soon as the claim is released. Do not worry – your content will be released if you whitelisted correctly at checkout.
